Awa Shijira is a traditional Japanese weaving style characterized by a cotton crepe pre-dyed crimpy texture. It was woven in every home during the Edo Period. The story goes that woman found that the cotton cloth changed into a crimp like crepe when it was drenched by rain on a summer day. The collection is 100% cotton and is a stylish piece that can be worn in a variety of settings both inside and out.
