Responsible TAKIBI time
As the warmer days approach, many of us are anticipating starry evenings around the campfire. Before camp season arrives, we’re taking a moment to refresh ourselves on the best practices for starting, tending and ending a fire. While we believe gathering around a fire is one of the best ways to enjoy nature, unsafe fire practices have devastating consequences. Here are some tips for a responsible and enjoyable fire.
Tools For A Responsible Fire Takibi Fire and Grill:

The Pack & Carry fireplace was first conceptualised in Japan after a widespread burn ban, due to the scorch marks left behind by on-ground fires. Tohru Yamai wanted to design a fireplace that protected the ground and could be used anywhere. The Takibi Fire and Grill was born and has enabled thousands of safe campfires for the last 30 years.

Fire Tool Set Pro: The three-piece set includes a shovel, poker and fire tongs so you can safely and efficiently keep your fire burning.

TAKIBI Apparel: The Snow Peak Takibi Collection is designed for fire-side use. Made with the fire-resistant fabric aramid, Takibi apparel will protect you from sparks. The collection features a range of styles and pieces to suit your individual preferences and needs.
Stay Up-to-Date on Rules & Regulations:
Many regions implement burn bans or strict fire regulations during the driest months of the year. Before you head out on your outdoor excursion or build a fire in your backyard, do a quick check of the current regulations in place. Even if there is not a burn ban, always exercise caution when starting a fire during the hot and dry summer months.
Starting Your Fire:
Ensure there are no overhanging branches that could catch a spark. Clear a space around your fire and make sure no flammable materials are nearby. Keep some water close, just in case.

Maintaining & Ending Your Fire:

Never leave the campfire unattended. Don’t burn anything besides wood! When extinguishing your fire, use ample amounts of water until the coals are cool. Mix the coals using a shovel to ensure all parts of the fire are extinguished.
