Here at Snow Peak London, Limited UK we are closely monitoring the evolving COVID-19 situation. Like all of you we are concerned with the rapid developments we are seeing across the local and international landscape, and our hearts are with the individuals and businesses who are enduring the initial impacts of this crisis.
The situation is changing at an incredibly rapid rate. To ensure we’re making the best decisions in real-time, we’ve identified an internal response team of leaders from across departments who meet daily, review response actions, and communicate transparently with employees. The decisions of this team will follow the guidance and expertise of UK government, NHS and WHO.
As corporate citizens and as members of our local communities we believe we are called to act. The health and well-being of our employees, customers, and the broader community is our greatest concern, and I’m writing today with the actions Snow Peak London are currently taking in response to the evolving situation.
Our London St James’s store has been closed for maintenance the past week and to help slow down the spread of this virus we will remain closed until 27th March. During this period, we will support all retail employees with continuation of pay and benefits. Our leadership will continue to monitor the evolving situation and make decisions for resumption of operations based on the best available information at the time.
All employees of our London Headquarters are encouraged to work remotely from home. We have implemented a deep cleaning of our offices and distribution centre, increased sanitization procedures, and cancelled non-essential work travel.

After discussions with our local third party warehouse we have decided in agreement with them to keep our online store open. They are taking all precautions necessary to be able to remain open for business to serve our customers.
Listed below are the extra precautions taken:
· Increasing the number of hand sanitisers and ensuring they are refilled regularly
· Continuing to use commercial-grade liquid antibacterial products
· Increasing the frequency of cleaning high touch areas (doors, handrails etc)
· Continuing to remind all staff of the necessity on improving their already high hygiene standards.
· Restricting access of non employees to keep the number of persons on site to the necessary minimum
· Suspending all unnecessary international travel
For sanitary reasons, our forwarder, DPD will not ask our customers to sign their handheld units and instead their drivers will sign on their behalf. The driver will record the consignees name and a “Delivered on Authority” message in the signature section of the unit. Customers will still have trace and track functionality and full visibility on all their parcels. This revised proof of delivery process will be actioned until further notice. The viability of continuing our ecommerce dispatches will be continuously monitored to secure the safety of all employees and customers.
These are trying times, and trying times demand a balancing force for healing. It is our fundamental belief at Snow Peak that time outdoors with loved ones restores the human spirit. As the nation braces for the stress and impact of this crisis, and as we move into a period of disconnection through social distancing, it is our genuine wish that all people find safe moments to reconnect with loved ones and restore their spirits outside - whether in the backyard, in the park, or in the wild.
Stay safe out there, and take care of one another.
